Job Summary
Reporting to the Sales Director, who is also based in London, the Sales Manager will work as part of the international sales team to:
Maintain existing and develop new commercial relationships.
Identify and evaluate the suitability of companies as Pharos partners.
Convert opportunities into sales.
Support customers to specify Pharos in a suitable way for their projects.
The Sales Manager will become the primary contact for all Pharos-related inquiries within their territories and manage customer requests to ensure satisfaction. This responsibility will cover the three Pharos product ranges: Designer, Expert and Cloud. Designer has an established distribution network around the world but there is great potential for growth into territories and market sectors that are currently underserved. Expert began shipping last year and therefore there is a fantastic opportunity for the incoming candidate to open up new distribution channels for this product. Cloud is a remote management platform for both Designer and Expert, and is sold on a subscription basis.
The Sales Manager role also involves sharing pricing, setting customer discounts, and creating special quotes to ensure the operations team can process sales orders.
The successful candidate will be comfortable exploring the market, initiating client meetings, and presenting Pharos hardware and software products.
We offer a very friendly, flexible and supportive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Primary contact: act as the main point of contact for all Pharos-related inquiries within the assigned territories (territories to be determined and from time to time reassigned).
Market awareness and demand creation: create awareness and proactively drive market demand for Pharos products through relationship building.
Develop and maintain relationships: establish and nurture relationships with both existing and potential partners.
Opportunity conversion: identify and convert new business opportunities into sales.
Operational: share pricing information, create quotes, collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth processing of sales orders.
Customer satisfaction: manage customer requests independently or in collaboration with the Pharos team to ensure satisfaction.
Other duties as reasonably assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
At least 2 years’ experience in a B2B sales role in the lighting or lighting controls market.
An understanding of electrical requirements and electrical safety.
Evidence of the ability to work as part of a remote team, sharing skills, experience and interests with colleagues.
Strong communication skills in both written and verbal English.
Ability to discuss prior work and explain the process involved and justify decisions made.
Excellent time management, including the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks appropriately.
Good working knowledge of computers and the management of operating systems.
Valid passport & driving licence.
Desirable Extras
Technical knowledge of lighting controls products and experience of their use in a live event or installation environment.
Practical experience or understanding of integrating systems over Ethernet.
Experience drawing technical one-line riser diagrams for illustrating system architecture.
Experience writing project specifications for inclusion into bid packages.
Fluency in languages other than English — both written and verbal.
