Technical Sales Manager – Offshore & Marine Engineering

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Sales Manager to join a cutting-edge engineering and technology company based in Cornwall. TalentTide Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager on behalf of our esteemed client within the offshore surveying sector. This pivotal role involves fostering and nurturing business-to-business relationships with both new and existing clients. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of the logistics and complexities associated with the offshore surveying industry.
Key Responsibilities

Engage with clients to ascertain their needs and provide tailored solutions that meet their objectives.
Develop and maintain strong business relationships that drive growth and customer satisfaction.
Prepare comprehensive tenders, proposals, and quotations in response to client inquiries.
Represent the organisation at industry trade exhibitions and networking events.
Enhance the company’s online presence by improving website content and optimising the customer experience.
Support and manage the company’s social media activities to bolster brand visibility.
Identify and pursue new revenue generation opportunities within the market sector.
Negotiate contracts to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure a seamless and integrated customer experience.
Lead and motivate the sales and marketing team to achieve strategic objectives.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of 2 years’ experience within the offshore surveying industry or a related field, with a strong understanding of its logistical challenges.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
A self-motivated, proactive, and ambitious individual with a strong drive for success.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Proven capability to excel in a competitive landscape.
Strong numerical skills and a passion for sales.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
A positive, resilient, and confident approach to challenges.
Demonstrated experience in effective negotiation techniques.

Desirable Attributes

Previous experience in a customer-facing role, enhancing client engagement.
Knowledge of import and export protocols.
Familiarity with global commercial contracts and operational processes.
Experience in website management and digital marketing strategies.
Ability to interpret and understand technical data and drawings.
